How Worker Verification Works on Jugaadi (For Now)

A plain explanation of what the verified badge on Jugaadi actually checks, and what it doesn't, during the pilot.

A question we get early: "how do you verify workers?" The honest answer, right now, is simple on purpose.

What happens today

A worker signs up, fills in their profile and skills, and their account sits unverified until Jugaadi's admin manually confirms their identity — a phone call or an in-person check, since this is a single-city pilot. Once confirmed, their profile gets a verified badge that owners see when reviewing who's responded.

What this isn't

It's not a police verification, not a credit check, not an automated KYC pipeline. We're not pretending otherwise — a manual check scales to our current volume and nothing more.

Why we didn't build something heavier for launch

A more automated verification system is real infrastructure — a vendor integration, a review queue, a cost per check. Building that before we know whether the core booking loop even works for people would be solving a problem we don't have yet. The manual check is enough to get started, and we'll revisit it if and when the volume of worker signups makes a human bottleneck instead of a feature.

What you should still do

Treat the badge as one input, not a guarantee. Meet the person, use your judgement, same as with any other helper — Jugaadi shortens your search, it doesn't replace the parts of choosing that are genuinely your call to make.
